Shhh…can you keep a secret?

December 19, 2012

paris fountainI finally had a chance to add some watercolor to one of the sketches that I did this fall on my trip to Paris, France.  Ok, I finally made time!  Remember, that post I did after I returned about time and traveling?  Well, the last couple of months have flown by, and while doing better with my intention to slow down and make a priority the things I want to do, rather than the things feel obligated to do, I’m still trying to learn this skill.  I’ve slipped up and said “yes” when I should have said “no” a couple of times.  I’ve gotten caught up in the rush of the holiday season and such.  But, I have also done better.  I’ve let others try to guilt me, and I’ve let it “float”.  And I think I will continue to do better in 2013.  Because it feels good!  It feels good to have a little more calm and a little more peace and a little more TIME!

So, I painted this for my husband and had it matted and framed.  It will be his gift for Christmas (no he doesn’t read my blog- I don’t think he’s aware I have one).  He said a couple of weeks ago, “oh we probably should have bought a painting in Paris”.  So, I hope this will do.  I’m happy with it, because it reinforces a moment we had sitting at an outdoor cafe, sipping cafe au’lait  and people watching in Monmartre.  And treasuring memories while staying “in the moment” is my goal for 2013.

My other goal is finding time to add watercolor to the other sketches I did on our trip!

I love it! I almost wish I could have a copy. You’re husband is very lucky to have a talented artist like you in his life.
